Time is just flying by, and I'm for real feeling it today because tomorrow is my birthday and I'm turning 23! Girl, say what?!
It feels like I just turned 22, forgetting to sing a very important Taylor Swift song the day of. You can't get prime opportunities like that back, just so you know. (Yes, I'm still beating myself up for THAT one.)
My 22nd year of life was definitely far from shabby. It brought plenty of fun and excitement, along with some dreaded change, that believe it or not, I'm NOT very good at. (Shocked, I know.)
For today's post, I'm reflecting on 22 things before the big 2-3; the good things from my year, along with some fashionable fun thrown in. Let's do it!
1 | The highlight of 22 has been finding out I'm going to be an AUNT! Baby Fox will arrive in October and I'm already counting down the days!
2 | The Fashionable Fox boutique made its second pop-up at The Trinity Knot in Wilmington, Illinois. I have a consistently growing customer base and SO MUCH awesome inventory that you'll want to check out this summer!
3 | Yo girl bought herself a fancy shmancy blogging camera AND learned how to use the basics of Adobe Lightroom. Can't you tell by this photo? Say CHEESE!
4 | Chokers making a comeback; AKA the best possible thing that could happen to my 90's kid soul.
5 | And can I get an AMEN for finally splurging on this adorable tassel crossbody I've been wanting since last year?! Hey, bae!
6 | My infamous Goodwill shoe haul is enough reason to celebrate.
7 | Technically I graduated college five days before I turned 22, but I am still looping it in here because it was a HUGE part of my year! To all my recent grad readers, I hope you are proud of yourselves for such a big accomplishment. GET IT!!
8 | The Cubs won the World Series. I repeat, the CUBS won the WORLD SERIES!
9 | I partnered with Goodwill for a lot of fun blog projects this year. I even made it into their email newsletter, and more recently, their televisions in stores! I'm very proud of this partnership and love watching it grow!
10 | Donuts. (No need to elaborate on that one.)
11 | I found the rose gold sneakers that dreams are made of.
12 | I've been working at the same job for a year that allows me to pay for my insane amount of student loan debt soooo... SUCCESS!
13 | I started a reading goal in January to read one book each month. That sounds so minimal to my powerhouse readers out there (for real, I envy you), but even though I'm not much of a reader, I still wanted to go for it! I've successfully read Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick, Talking As Fast As I Can by Lauren Graham and Blog Inc. by Joy Cho. I fell behind a bit in April, so I'm still working on getting through Boss Bitch by Nicole Lapin. It's very large, so I'm intimidated.
14 | I FINALLY started a YouTube channel- something that has been in the works for a very very long time. I'm looking forward to really getting started with it this year!
15 | My parents had some scary health blips, but I'm happy to report they are both back in perfect health annnnd back to driving me crazy. (Or am I driving THEM crazy?...Hmm.)
16 | I was faced with the reality that I am obsessed with shopping at Marshalls, and I am okay with it.
17 | The SUGARFIX by BaubleBar jewelry collection at Target? That can get a HELL YAS!
18 | I signed up for my first subscription box- the Bless Box! I love it so far.
19 | Over the course of MANY months (because I'm just as bad at TV as I am at reading), I finished all seven seasons AND the revival episodes of Gilmore Girls. Hands down the best show I've ever watched, right next to Glee. I could write an entire blog post about how much I love it, but instead, just take my word for it and go binge; I'll be here obsessing over it with my BFF Georgi.
20 | I bought my first car! BEEP BEEP!
21 | The patterned boho kimonos? Give me those. All of those.
22 | I made memories with the best family and friends a girl could ask for. (SO MUSHY)
