Athleisure style for the average girly girl

March 16, 2017

Let's run some laps...

...around the MALL because I'm really feeling this athleisure trend right now!

If you consider yourself an average girly girl like me, working out is far from being your favorite activity. AS IF!

The awesome news for people like me is that "athleisure" is an IT style at the moment, so not only can my outfit be super casual, but it can also make me look like I may spring into workout action at any given moment. (But no one has to know the truth.)

In all seriousness, athleisure style is a really fun way to go all Sporty Spice with your outfits. Whether you're a girly girl whose "leg day" consists of a multiple-hour shopping spree, or if you're a total fitness lady boss that inspires me to eat a salad every once in a while, I believe this trend is one you'll enjoy.

I put together my own take on a girly athleisure look; and by girly, I mean lots of blush shades and patterns. The pieces I used to create this look are currently shoppable as well, so you can start building an outfit of your own with affordable items.

Let's break this ensemble down:

Jacket: JCPenney | Tee: Old Navy | Pants: Forever 21 | Bralette: JCPenney | Shoes: Clarks
You can go to any clothing store these days and find a bomber jacket. My advice is to pick out one that is unique to your own personal style. I love florals and bright colors, so this Arizona bomber definitely spoke to me.

I chose to wear a plain Old Navy boyfriend tee that would not take away from the pattern on the jacket, but to give the look a little something extra, I threw on an Xersion black criss-cross bralette underneath. This added another sporty element and bumped up the style factor.

Joggers are so comfortable that they are basically the BFF of leggings. This grey terry cloth pair from Forever 21 only cost $13 and they're perfect for lounging around in or putting together in a sporty outfit like this.

My shoes were a splurge item, but I've been looking everywhere for rose gold sneakers that compliment my style. I love how simple these Clarks are with the blush color and glam detailing.

*****

Putting together an athleisure look should be easy if it's reflecting your fashion personality. This casual trend calls for simplicity, which is something I think we can all get down with, squats and all.
