We made it, fashionistas! It's September! Time to deck the halls with plaid and indulge on allllll the pumpkin spice. Summer is always so much fun, but let's be honest with ourselves: there's nothing quite like that crisp arrival of fall.
I can't wait to start sharing more fall fashion on the blog! I'm kicking it off with my favorite fall kicks: backless mules. Although I'll literally wear these at any time of year because I love them so much, backless mules really come out to play during the fall months because they look so chic with jackets and cropped denim. They're easy to slip on, super comfortable and can class up any outfit.
Here are some of my favorites I'll be wearing on repeat this fall:
I recently scored this mule on clearance; in brown at Marshalls and in black at T.J. Maxx. The leather is buttery soft and I love the weave detailing. The scalloped edging at the ankle is really flattering on the foot. Brown and black are neutral staples for the fall so these shoes will be easy to pair with outfits, making them the perfect addition to my wardrobe; the more versatile, the better. These mules are simple, but the unique details make them stand out.
Talk about a statement piece! These mules are currently on clearance at DSW and if you're a fan of vintage fashion, you'll love the look of this shoe. The pattern is like a floral tapestry and the colors are fall friendly, with mixes of tans, olive green and maroon. Because these mules are so busy, I would recommend wearing a simple outfit with them, such as a dark green tee shirt dress with a denim blouse. This will allow the shoes to steal the show, and trust me, they deserve it.
Although this exact shoe is retired from Target now, it remains one of my favorites. I liked it so much that I have it in black, crushed velvet and silver. These mules are chic and dressy; I love wearing them to work. The black pair is the perfect Gucci dupe. Pair them with dress pants and a blazer for your corporate job and dress them down with jeans and a graphic tee for a more casual look. Target now has a similar version that is faux fur lined here.

It's shoe-time,
