Summer faves in the beauty world

Hi fashionistas!

We're in the heat of summertime, and although fashion is my passion (see what I did there?), I love changing up my summer makeup routine just as much as I love busting out my summer wardrobe.


I always enjoy a good excuse to try out some new products. I love swapping out dark eye shadow shades for lighter ones, and using glowy bronzers for a change. Experimenting with colors and products is just more fun this time of year.

Today on the blog, I am reviewing four of my new favorite summer beauty products, so then you can get out there and experiment, too! Let's do this!

#1 | Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Sugar and Spice

I first heard about this blush palette through one of my favorite beauty bloggers. I really liked the colors, so I picked it up for only $10 at Ulta. I love soft pink blushes, but I thought the brighter colors would be perfect for the summertime.

I've been so happy with this product- the colors are very pigmented, but not in an overwhelming way. It applies the perfect pop of color to the apples of my cheeks. It's a great blush palette for an incredible price!

#2 | Covergirl Tru Blend Bronzer

I've been searching endlessly for a good glowy bronzer for the summer. I tried some of the current popular products, like the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer, but was unimpressed. I couldn't find one that was right for my skin.

The Covergirl Tru Blend blushes are a staple in my makeup bag- they are one of my favorite products! When I saw they also had a bronzer, I had to give it a shot. It's the perfect shade for my skin, with a simple glow that makes me look like I just came from the beach. PERFECT!

#3 | NYX Butter Gloss

Alright, I've officially found my NEW FAVORITE lip product! The NYX Butter Glosses are simply to die for. I am really not a big fan of lip gloss- I hate when it's too shiny and too sticky! I prefer a simple matte lipstick. But these glosses have changed the game for me!

First of all, they are a steal! Only $4.99 per shade. I currently have three shades- Maple Blondie, Eclair and Cupcake- but I'm sure I will be getting more soon. The formula goes on smooth without any stickiness. It's soft, brightly pigmented and tastes yummy. This product is a perfect option if you don't feel like wearing a heavy lipstick on a hot day.

#4 | Pixi Beauty Mesmerizing Mineral Eyeshadow Palette in Aquamarine Dream 

This is a very bold choice for me- I am ALL about nude eyeshadows that are simple and smokey. I found this palette of blues on clearance at Target, so I decided to give it a shot.

Although I'm not wearing it too often, it's a fun option on a day where I want to change up my look. The shades of blue are very earthy and remind me of the ocean. If you are feeling a nautical makeup look, I think you'll love these shadows! They apply easily and wear well for a long day.
