Updated Packing List: Disneyland

May 2, 2019

Only three days till I'm off to Disneyland! I'm ready for California sunshine and lots of fun!

I've got packing on my mind and have already started a list. Last year, I wrote my packing list for Disneyland on the blog as well, but now that I have some experience under my belt, I have a few additions! I've *starred the items that are new to the list this year.

Here's my UPDATED packing list for Disneyland:

FESTIVE TEES
Etsy has the CUTEST Disney shirts I have ever seen. Wearing a fun Disney tee and shorts is the easiest way to plan outfits for this trip; I've got a whole stack ready! Some of my favorite shops are bykystudios and YourMagicTees. With so many adorable options, it's hard to decide!

COMFY SHORTS
To go with my tees, I'm packing linen-blend, chambray and denim shorts that are loose and comfortable. I need shorts that move with me and can make it through a long day of walking and exploring. My number one rule for Disney is that comfort is KEY.

SNEAKERS
The sneakers I brought with me last year are the Keds Vollie sneaker from DSW. I got them in white and they didn't hurt my feet a bit- I'm still wearing them a lot to this day! I will be packing these again for my trip, along with a new pair I bought in grey. It will be nice to change it up!

SANDALS
I threw a pair of sandals in my suitcase before last year's trip and I did NOT regret it! I spent most of the day in my sneakers, but would take a break before dinner and go back to the park later in the evening. This is when I would put on my Birkenstocks because they are still equally as comfy, but it was nice to air out my feet since I was doing less walking.

*HAT
I did NOT think to bring a hat last year, probably because I don't wear hats very often, and also because I was planning on my Minnie ears becoming a permanent fixture on my head. Because the sun was so bright, I did get sunburn on my scalp, which wasn't super pleasant. I ordered this cute castle hat from the 999Spyglass shop on Etsy to prevent this from happening again.

*RAINCOAT
Since my trip is much longer than last time, I figured I better purchase a packable rain jacket, just in case. I ordered this one on Amazon for less than $30 and it folds up into a little pouch. The funny thing is the forecast looks like nothing but sunshine for next week in California, but I've needed my raincoat every single day this week in Illinois! I'll bring it with, but hopefully won't have to touch it.

*TEE DRESS
I am so excited for everything, but MOST excited for my dinner reservation at the Lamplight Lounge, the new pixar-themed restaurant at California Adventure park! It's not formal, but it is a sit down dinner, so I thought it would be fun to dress up a bit. I picked out this adorable striped t-shirt dress from Kohl's; it's going to look so cute with my white sneakers!

*DENIM JACKET
This is still up in the air, but I am debating bringing a denim jacket as another option instead of a sweatshirt. If the temps are going to be in the 70s during the day, it could get chilly at night, so it might be smart to toss it in my suitcase. Plus, it would look super cute if I threw a Disney pin on it!

*JEWELRY
I now have my own Disney Alex and Ani bracelets, so those will definitely be tagging along! There are so many great photo opportunities to show off the bracelets around the park!

LIGHTWEIGHT SWEATSHIRT
A basic, zip-up sweatshirt is a necessity for vacations because you never know if you'll get cold. My favorite one from Old Navy is a simple grey color that pairs well with anything, but can easily be tied around my waist if I don't need it.

*JEANS
I plan to bring a pair of cropped denim jeans this year as well, just in case it gets chillier than expected during the nighttime hours. It never hurts to be prepared!

SWIMSUIT
My hotel has a heated pool, and because I have extra time, I can't WAIT to go swimming! It will be nice to relax by the pool and read before I head off for dinner. I've purchased so many cute swimsuits from Old Navy this year that the struggle will be deciding on one to bring.

SMALL CROSSBODY BAG
You definitely DO NOT want to carry a big bag around Disneyland; it will just get in the way! I need something to hold my phone, sunglasses and money, so a small crossbody bag does the trick. The mini hipster bag from Vera Bradley is the perfect size and has lots of compartments to store everything you could need.

SUNGLASSES & SUNSCREEN
An obvious necessity- I will be smarter about wearing sunscreen this year! And I will also need my sunglasses for that bright and beautiful California sunshine.

PHONE & CHARGER
I used my phone to take lots of pictures last year, and to access the Disneyland app for all my food reservations and MaxPasses. My phone did start to die late afternoon, so having a charger on hand is a must.

BOOKS
As I mentioned before, I can't wait to catch up on some reading on my flights and by the pool! I'm bringing my Disneyland guidebook with, obviously, and I also plan to start reading Yes Please by Amy Poehler. I haven't had much free time to read lately, so I'm really looking forward to it.

MAKEUP BAG
My makeup bag with all the essentials will be packed up; shampoo, face wash, moisturizer, etc. As for makeup, I only bring foundation and mascara on this trip, and it barely gets used! There's nothing like clean skin for a fun day outside!

What would YOU bring to Disneyland?

And she's off,
