For today's post, I have decided to review the L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche nude eyeshadow palettes.
These palettes were released last spring and I was SO excited when they finally arrived. I envied the Urban Decay Naked palettes, but couldn't justify spending $50 for an eyeshadow palette when I wear such a minimal amount of makeup.
I love Maybelline's The Nudes palette, so I knew I would love L'Oreal's take too. Nude makeup is all I wear. As I mentioned, I wear a very minimal amount of makeup because I love the simplicity. My brown eyes are most complimented by a brown, tan or other nude shade of eyeshadow and simple mascara. The only time I go out of the box with makeup is when I am trying a bold lip color.
So, without further ado, here are the Nude 1 and Nude 2 palettes from L'Oreal:

The colors of the Nude 1 are definitely more shades of tan and brown. I love the light brown colors because they remind me of warm sand.

The two colors my brush is pointing at above are the shades I use most often. The browns are soft and simple and are not too heavy for my eyes. I love that it makes the brown in my eyes pop!

The second nude palette in the collection is my favorite to use in the winter and for any special occasions. As you can see, there is little more variety in the colors than the Nude Palette 1, which is mostly shades of brown.
Although this palette obviously incorporates shades of brown (nudes, duh!), there is also more of a variety with the pinks, plums, mauves and grey options. I love pairing a simple mauve with a grey highlight for a smoky look.

The two colors my brush are pointing at are my FAVORITE for a special occasion. I plan to pair this pink/mauve combo with an awesome silver dress I found (more on that in December) for the winter formal at school.
*****
Overall, I completely LOVE these palettes. I use them almost every single day. The variety of shades offer so many options for makeup looks and the colors are the perfect mixture of matte, sparkle and shimmer tones.
Did I also mention that they are so AFFORDABLE?! Only $15 for the whole palette. If you are like me and can't spend $50 for the treasured Urban Decay Naked palettes, this is honestly the best affordable option. Between the variety of shades and colors, the perfect way the shadows blend on your eyes and the great price, you will NOT be disappointed!
Make those eyes GLOW,
Thank God I follow your blog because I was just thinking of purchasing the Naked palette since I heard so many good things about it from my sister and my friends. This is such a great alternative!
ReplyDeleteI love all the pictures you posted because it shows that you actually tried and gave an honest review of this product. My favorite part about all the Fash Fox posts is that you give a cheaper alternative and places to buy products.
Great post!
If you were interested in the Naked palette, you should definitely give these a shot!! Thanks!
