31 Days of Deals + a few of my favorite things

November 10, 2015

Hey everyone!

I hope you are all still feeling inspired from last week's post- I know that I have been experimenting more and more with my eyeshadow palettes. You should get out there and purchase them for yourself! Or, hint, they would make a GREAT gift idea! (Christmas is coming!)

The weather is finally starting to cool down here in Chicago- it's been about fifty degrees everyday. This sweater weather has been AWESOME!

Sweater: Roxy from Pac Sun

I've been working hard at prepping my closet with all of my fall and winter clothes, and I've also been doing a MAJOR closet clean out.... but more on that another time!

Also, I never shared my Halloween costume with you fashionistas! I dressed up as Minnie Mouse this year, and I actually had two different events to go to. Lucky for me, I found out that I have a very "Minnie Mouse friendly" wardrobe....
What did you all dress up as for Halloween? Leave some comments and let me know!

For today's post, I am going to recap on my 31 Days of Deals promotion from the month of October, and also, I'm talking about a few of my favorite things at the moment.

So, let's get started!

First off, I'm so happy with the feedback I received for my "31 Days of Deals" promotion throughout the month of October on Instagram. If you have no idea what I am talking about, go ahead and follow me on insta to check out what I was up to! You can also use the hashtag #31DOD to find the posts.

Although it was a major commitment, I had so much fun picking out different pieces for the post each day. I get seriously excited when I find big deals, so I loved the opportunity to share my finds with you all!

Here's a big collage of the 31 pieces I featured:

And I even put together some of the pieces into my outfits during October! Take a look:

I will definitely be doing another Instagram monthlong post deal again in the future.

Speaking of Instagram... did you all see my Giveaway from last week? To celebrate 10,000 total views on the blog, I did a giveaway promotion! The item was this adorable LC Lauren Conrad necklace from Kohl's:

Although the giveaway is over now (congrats to @ksharks!), I had a lot of fun promoting this. To enter, you had to like the post and follow me on Instagram.

Don't forget to follow me now to stay updated on the next giveaway!

A few of my favorite things..

Here are a few things I'm obsessing over these days:

1.) My new Free People jacket

Jacket: Free People
Do you ever have those moments where you fall in love over and over with an item? Well, that is what happened with me and this jacket.

I spotted it on the return rack at Goodwill last Friday and sprinted to grab it. I love this military jacket style with the printed sleeves. And you know what I love even more? The fact that it was $8. A Free People jacket. For $8. And you're not running out to shop resale yet?!

#2: Iced Coffee

Scarf: Charlotte Russe
Okay, I PROMISED myself I would never be a coffee drinker, but I unfortunately found my new guilty pleasure. I blame my friends... (Not to point any fingers, but...Nicole, Jade, Andrea, David)

Although I am proud that I am not relying on iced coffee to get me through the day- I usually grab one once a week after school with a donut as a reward after a long day. The mocha iced coffee from Dunkin' Donuts accompanied by my favorite maple frosted donut is my zen. When I'm at school, I grab a white chocolate mocha iced coffee from Jazzman's, which is still pretty delicious.

Jacket: ELLE from Kohl's
I spotted this sweater jacket in the Kohl's advertisement the other day and was immediately hooked. The brand is ELLE and it's called the Grid Lurex Sweater Jacket.

It is currently on a pretty good sale, so I'm saving up the coupons until I can purchase this piece for myself. I can't WAIT to turn this into an #OOTD.

#4: My Rebecca Minkoff bag

Handbag: Rebecca Minkoff
If you read my post back in September about fall accessories, you are probably familiar with my Rebecca Minkoff bag. It's the Leo Tote in the Mexi Flower pattern and I found it at Neiman Marcus Last Call over the summer.

I recently started carrying it around for the fall and it has gotten a LOT of attention! It's great to throw my stuff in and is overall just a really fun bag. And BONUS: I figured out that the front pocket zips off to double as a clutch. Two bags in one!

Handbag: Rebecca Minkoff, Jacket: Free People, Scarf: Charlotte Russe, Jeans: Levis, Shoes: Sperry Top-Siders

I can't believe we are already at the double digits of November! I've already started some of my holiday shopping. Pretty soon, I will be posting a holiday gift guide on the blog. What kinds of items would you like to see on there? Let me know in the comments!

Other things to look forward to on the blog this month and beyond is dressing for Thanksgiving, Target haulin', what's in my bag, closet clean out and more!

There's a lot to look forward to, so keep stopping by!

See you,

Loved this week's post. It is lengthy but still interesting to read. My favorite part is all the deals you were able to find. I need that gray Tommy Hilfiger sweater!
Also, I love the idea of an Instagram give away. Great job Laura!
