The It Bags of Summer

It's officially the first day of summer! Things are starting to heat up, and so is my wardrobe! My favorite thing about summer fashion is definitely the accessories. Everything gets brighter and bolder and you can have way more fun playing with your shoes, jewelry and handbags.

Speaking of handbags, for this week's blog post, I've rounded up five different styles that are the "it bags" of summer. These are the styles you'll be seeing a lot of on vacay, at the stores or on Instagram. What better way to make a summer statement than with an Insta-worthy bag?!

Here's what I'm seeing (and loving) the most:

THE RATTAN CROSSBODY

Have you seen this style bag all over your Pinterest? I bet you have. The "wicker circle" crossbody hit the scene last summer, and luckily, there are more affordable versions this season! The one I have here is actually from American Eagle and only set me back $25. If it's in the shape of a circle, has a crossbody strap and is made out of some kind of wicker material, you are GOLDEN. This bag is perfect for summer exploring and new adventures.

THE STATEMENT CLUTCH

I love pieces that are whimsy and I finally feel brave enough in the summertime to actually use them. This swimming pool clutch is from Studio DIY's "Can't Clutch This" subscription and it is ADORABLE! The swimming ladies are actually enamel pins! There are so many fun clutches like this that make a serious statement piece; the perfect date night bag!

THE STRAW CARRYALL

Since the rattan crossbody is so coveted, the latest member to that family is a large circle carryall that is perfect for traveling, hitting the beach or going to the library. It's more spacious for all your summer needs! Mine is vintage and I found it at the flea market for $10- one of my favorite finds! I've seen other variations of this style from Billabong and Target.

THE GO-TO TOTE

I personally think that every girl needs a reliable tote that can get her from one day to the next. When it comes to reliable bags, I swear by Vera Bradley because they hold up to everyday use and they are easy to clean. This tote style is from their outlet store and the pattern is new and exclusive to the outlet called "Pueblo." I love this pattern because it has bright summer colors and a bohemian vibe. The inside is deep enough for all of your belongings and it has lots of pocket space. I used this same style bag as my carry on for my trip to Disney and it worked out perfect!

THE COVETED BAMBOO BAG

Here's another bag you've probably seen all over Instagram and Pinterest. The bamboo clutch is a blogger must-have in the summer ATM, but it's another accessory that can be pretty pricey! The awesome news is that Target created their own version in a more affordable price range- that's the one I'm carrying here! It's from the A New Day brand and is such a unique piece. I can't wait to take this baby out for my next margarita night!
