Cozy, Casual Sherpa

November 2, 2017

Ah- sweet, sweet November. Although I have MAJOR heart eyes for October and that beautiful "beginning of fall" feeling, November is equally as wonderful.

Don't get me wrong- I'm already impatiently stalking Target for their new holiday decor. But I like to take November slow to reflect on my blessings and enjoy the fall before it officially wraps up. Plus, Thanksgiving is my FAVORITE holiday of all time! (No shame in screaming out that the "food" holiday is my fave, y'all!)

Although I'll always prefer warmer weather, the chill in the air before the falling leaves turn into snow is downright one of the coziest feelings. It's time to cuddle up with hot cocoa and a good book next to the fire.

Speaking of cozy, one of the coziest trends of the fall and winter is faux Sherpa. I've been seeing it with vests and comfy pullovers, as well as lining suede and denim jackets. I love the pieces that mix Sherpa details with another material, like this jacket from Old Navy.

When I see Sherpa, I think of a big teddy bear- so warm and fluffy! I recently thrifted a sueded Sherpa sweater by Soft Surroundings from Goodwill for only $20! (Originally $119!) It was never worn; tags attached and all! At first I wasn't sure if I could pull the style off; the neckline seemed a little bulky on the hanger. But once I tried it on, it fit perfectly and was SO cozy.

The sleeves and back of this piece are a knit sweater material, while the chest is suede and the neckline is Sherpa. I love how it combines three materials to create a really unique style. The knit arms and back allow for more give and a comfortable stretch. The suede/Sherpa combo is extremely soft; I could cuddle up in it all day long!

This neutral oatmeal color of the sweater is easy to pair with many outfits, but since it is still such a statement piece, I kept the rest of the look simple with solid colors and light accessorizing. I'm wearing LC Lauren Conrad black leggings from Kohl's that I picked up for $11! LC's line of leggings are really comfortable and come in a few awesome colors for the season, and the price can't be beat!

Underneath the sweater I wore this spice-colored knit tank from Old Navy. As I recently have been trying to rid my wardrobe of too many busy patterns, I fell in love with solid color cotton tanks from ON in the summer. This tank is new for the fall and is a heavier knit material for the colder weather; perfect for wearing under jackets, sweaters and blazers. It also comes in three additional colors- heather gray, winter wine and hunter pines. They're also super cheap on sale, so I picked up one in every color.

Finally, for shoes I wore my favorite that you see all the time- the Merona Kona Loafer Mules from Target. Literally the PERFECT dupe for Gucci's similar style; I LIVE in these babies. I've found that they can really class up any look. Even though I'm wearing leggings, I could totally wear this outfit to the office because of the dressiness of my loafers and sweater. And at only $23...what are you waiting for?!

As the days and nights officially start to get chilly, I'm preparing my closet for warmth, style and COZINESS. As I continuously tell my readers, comfort is key, and there's seriously nothing better than being comfy AND cozy this time of year! Prep yourself with pieces that make you feel confident and all cuddly inside.

Bundle up,
