Your holiday outfit inspiration

December 24, 2015

Ho ho ho!

Happy holidays, fashionable followers!

I'm so excited to be bringing you this post on the morning of Christmas Eve- it's a big day! Whether you are celebrating, cooking, wrapping or doing other festive activities today, I hope this post makes your job a lot easier.

It can be pretty stressful moving into Christmas Day, and adding to the stress is picking out what to wear. This post is meant to get your fashionable juices flowing so you can effortlessly throw together an ensemble that is perfect for decking the halls.

I've put together four different holiday outfits that fit any occasion: one with a skirt, one with a dress, one with jeans and one with leggings. Keep reading to get inspired for your outfits this weekend...

Outfit #1: Leggings

Old Navy top, Target Xhilaration leggings, Dexter flats, Betsey Johnson scarf
This first holiday look is more laid back and comfy, if that is your preferred style. I paired this burgundy Old Navy tunic top with black velvet Xhilaration leggings from Target. My two-tone Dexter DexFlex flats from Payless give this simple look a classy feel. I added on this Betsey Johnson infinity scarf to pull it all together.

I love the pearls that are stitched into this scarf- it screams winter to me. The deep red of the top and velvet material of the leggings are all key factors to a fun holiday outfit.

Cost: $28 total

I found the leggings on clearance at Target for $8. The Old Navy top and Dexter shoes were both $5 Goodwill finds. Finally, the Betsey Johnson scarf was a $10 resale store deal.

Outfit #2: Jeans

Even top, Old Navy jeans, BC Footwear booties, Ann Taylor necklace
This look is a combination of laid back and dressed up. The gray Old Navy jeans are the casual piece of this outfit, but the other pieces give a dressy tone. The deep forest green Even top is a sweater material on the front with a sheer back. The wrap style makes the top boxy and flowy in all of the right places. My favorite BC Footwear gold glitter booties (that you have probably seen on the blog before) make another appearance in this outfit, and to spice up the plain top, I added this sparkly Ann Taylor statement necklace.

The pearl/gemstone mix in this gold link necklace scream holiday party! I love how it pairs with this shade of green. I chose a grey jean over a blue jean because the color really brings this outfit together as a whole.

Cost: $36 total

The Old Navy jeans were $16 on sale. The Even top and BC Footwear booties were both $5 finds. The Ann Taylor necklace was a $10 resale treasure.

Look #3: Dress

Old Navy dress, Jennifer Lopez blazer, Old Navy tights, Jaclyn Smith heels, Forever 21 necklace
If you have to dress a little less casual for Christmas, this outfit is for you. I paired this simple black Old Navy dress with black tights and a bright cream and gold polka dot Jennifer Lopez blazer. These Jaclyn Smith heels elevate the ensemble and a simple mixed metals bar necklace from Forever 21 match the polka dot print perfectly.

The sparkly blazer pops so well against a simple black dress. Cream and gold create a perfect holiday color combination.

Cost: $27 total

The black Old Navy dress was a hand-me-down. The Jennifer Lopez blazer was a $6 Goodwill find. The black tights were $5 at Old Navy and the Jaclyn Smith heels were $12 on sale at Kmart. I recently found the Forever 21 necklace in store for $4.

Look #4: Skirt

Mossimo Target sweater, Joe Fresh skirt, Old Navy tights, Sam Edelman booties, Simply Vera Vera Wang necklace
The final outfit I put together is my favorite. It is also much dressier, but incorporates a skirt instead of a dress. I paired a simple charcoal colored Mossimo cropped sweater from Target with this black and silver sequin Joe Fresh skirt. I would also wear this with my Old Navy black tights and some Sam Edelman black heeled booties. For jewelry, I added this Simply Vera by Vera Wang cluster necklace that matches the skirt to a T.

The simple sweater is perfect with such a busy skirt, but the necklace adds a little flavor to the plain color. I love how sparkly this outfit is for the holidays, and it can even be carried over for New Year's Eve. (Which I may just be doing)

Cost: $24 total

The Target Mossimo cropped sweater and Sam Edelman booties were $5 Goodwill finds. The necklace was a $5 resale find, and I happened across this Joe Fresh sequin skirt at Goodwill for only $4! My tights were again, $5 from Old Navy.

If you are panicking today about what to wear tomorrow, I hope this post allows you to rest easy and pick out something from your closet that is both similar and fits your own personal style.

I also hope this post inspires you when it comes to shopping smart! The new year is quickly approaching, and the perfect New Year's resolution would be to start being budget-conscious when it comes to clothes shopping.

I'll be back after Christmas to talk about gifts, recipes and what I wore for the holidays!

Old Navy jeans, Notations blazer, Ann Taylor LOFT top, Dexter shoes

From my family to yours, I wish you the happiest of holidays!

Infinite x's and o's,
