Adam's Guide to Surviving the Holidays

11/30/2017

Hello, all! Adam here. Today Im taking over the blog to give advice on how to survive the holidays and keep that Christmas spirit alive as you journey around looking for the perfect gift for a loved one. After all, finding the right gift for someone can be a lot more stressful than it needs to be. Im listing off the three best ways I stay stress-free during the holidays.

1 | Keep a list
It is always good to stay organized while scouting around for gifts. KEEP CALM! And just make a list. Simple, right? What I do is keep a list in my iPhone Notes of everyones names that I will be getting a gift for and some potential gift ideas. I will now have to change my ways because I have individuals (Laura) that will know to take a peek in the virtual Christmas gift closet (Laura) and will spoil their gifts for themselves (Laura).

1A | Have a passcode lock on your phone if you plan on keeping a list
Seriously. Have one.

2 | Stay calm!
When it comes to the holidays, its easy to become overwhelmed with the amount of things that need to be done. Just breathe and whatever you do, DON'T procrastinate! From putting up Christmas lights to buying gifts, it is important to stay calm! One way I de-stress is by reading and drinking coffee. I like to clear my mind and find a temporary escape from the craziness. This helps me slow down and think a little more clearly so that I am able to focus more on what I need to get done. I am currently nursing an injury, so I’ve had a lot of down time to keep calm so far!

3 | Spread the holiday spirit
Make sure to keep the good mood going around the holidays. It’s all about embracing the season and spreading holiday cheer. Whether it’s by donating toys for kids or by donating to a food drive for those in need; Christmas is only once a year and it’s important to make sure that everyone is given a reason to smile during the holidays.

What it all boils down to is finding ways to keep your cool during this busy season. It’s easy to let stress take over and ruin what is supposed to be a special time of year. Hopefully these ideas will help you stay organized and keep calm in the coming weeks! Until next time!
